Cajeput oil is clear to pale yellow in color with a clean, camphorous aroma with fruity undertones..

Its astrigent and antiseptic properties make this oil valuable in treating skin conditions such as acne and psoriasis.
It is well known to help with respiratory issues.
Its antiseptic and antimicrobial properties make it beneficial in diffusers and air freshening products.
It also has insecticidal properties.

Note: Contains cineole, which can irritate certain skins. Always patch test before use.

Common Uses

Cajeput is useful in products used to relieve congestion and respiratory issues. It is great in massage blends, and products targeting muscular aches and pains and arthritis.

It is an ingredient in some liniments for sore muscles such as Tiger Balm and Indonesian traditional medicine Minyak Telon. Its astringent properties are helpful in skin care products aimed at oily and problem skin. It is uplifting, clarifying and antiseptic, making it useful in air freshening products. Cajeput oil can be found in many products including blended creams for face and body, decongestant balms, massage oils, vaporizer oils, bath oils, candles, soaps and hair products.

A versatile and often underrated oil, Cajeput oil has many applications. It has an uplifting, clean fragrance with antiseptic and antimicrobial properties.

A member of the Melaleuca family, Cajeput oil is steam distilled from the leaves and lateral branches of the Melaleuca Leucadendron Cajuputi. The name Cajeput derives from the Malaysian word ‘kayu-putih’ meaning white wood. The tree is highly regarded in the east and has many therapeutic and herbal uses, and was widely used by Indigenous Australians in traditional medicine including the treatment of aching joints and respiratory issues.
