Our Farms
Naturally Australian Products’ 100% Pure Tea Tree Ingredients (Melaleuca alternifolia) connect your products straight to the source, Bungawalbyn Valley Basin in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, Australia. This area is known as the birthplace of the Tea Tree Industry, and home to a 2,000-acre certified organic tea tree farm, where our founders began their journey.
Surrounded by old-growth forest, interspersed with thousands of ancient mother tea trees, this farm is the optimal native environment to produce nutrient-dense Tea Trees, ensuring the most premium yielding essential oils, hydrosols and extracts.
Our farming philosophy is based on the traditional principles of foraging and sustainably hand-harvesting on wild lands, whilst leaving plenty of living material for wildlife and future growth. In addition to wild-harvesting, we also source from hundreds of acres of Tea Tree in plantation organic farming, which is regeneratively harvested to ensure a healthy environment and sustainable supply.
Mastering the art of growing, distilling and supplying premium ingredients to the international Tea Tree Industry, we extend our expertise beyond our farms, building a network of botanical growers who honor the land and care about your natural ingredients as much as we do. Working closely with other growers and distillers, we source a wide range of products from eco-responsible farms around the world to offer the most premium ingredients, true to their species and origin.
Backing your brand's commitment to "Clean" and "Green" ingredients, NAP's Tea Tree Essential Oil and range of products are accredited by the strict standards of: Oregon Tilth, USDA Organic, FDA registered, Australian Certified Organic, and even our very own ecoV™ standard.
It’s logical that one of the most potent essential oils would result from adapting to such a harsh, yet pristine landscape. Delivering over 200 compounds, our Tea Tree products are known for their complex profile of anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, antiseptic and anti-viral actives. Competing with synthetic alternatives for years, Tea Tree Oil continues to outperform, maintaining its identity as the safest natural and affordable solution.
As the Tea Tree industry developed, the species has been farmed outside of its native territory, producing oils that pale in comparison, are of poor quality and even cause skin irritation. We are proud to produce oil on lands that have been valued for this species by generations. Indigenous Australians exposed to the challenging weather conditions, wildfires and insects traditionally crush tea tree leaf and apply to skin to heal wounds or prevent infection. Settlers drawn to the area’s rich soil followed suit, applying the ‘natural’ antiseptic as an effective treatment of topical infections and fungal diseases. With time, this natural antiseptic remedy became a common household go-to around the world.
Ancient Medicine for Modern Solutions
Today, Tea Tree’s extensive list of uses range from medicinal to therapeutic applications and continues to grow (i.e., infections, minor burns, cuts, sore throats, ingrown toenails, sunburn, tinea, ulcers, golden staph, cold sores, pimples, acne, etc). More and more, Tea Tree Oil is being used by the beauty and cosmetics industries for its soothing and antibacterial properties, formulated into deodorants, soaps, lotions, and a range of personal hygiene products. For hair care or even pet care, Tea Tree is a common anti-dandruff and conditioning ingredient.
It is one of the few oils that may be used undiluted on the skin, known to be non-toxic and non-irritating (but should always be tested first).* Numerous studies and scientific literature have shown tea tree oil’s potential for other unique uses, ranging from arthritis relief, massage oils, mouth washes for bad breath, or rash creams.
*Tea Tree Oil is not recommended for internal use without medical supervision.
