Blue Tansy oil is steam distilled from the yellow flowers buds and aerial parts of the Tanacetum Annuum, a herb native to the Mediterranean. The oil has a high content of chamazulene which gives it its rich blue colour. This oil belongs to the same family as the chamomiles and is sometimes referred to as Moroccan Blue Chamomile. Such was its popularity, it was almost harvested out of existence, but has been revived and is being grown in places such as Morocco where it is now thriving. It is a calming oil, with antifungal, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
