Common Uses

Balm Mint Bush Essential Oil is commonly used in Aromatherapy, Skincare, Haircare and particularly Cleaning, Natural Air Fresheners, Creams/Lotions, Cleansers, Massage Oils.

Works to fight colds and ease headaches. Its antibacterial and antifungal properties make it an effective essential oil for cleaning. It has carminative qualities and is commonly used as a natural de-stressor, assisting cognitive function, and better sleep quality. Promotes healthy skin and clears blemishes.

A wonderful, uplifting and refreshing mint aroma, followed by a gentle Eucalyptus note. Some people may pick up a gentle pine note as well.

Basil, Cajeput, Cardamom, Citronella, Eucalyptus Globulus, all types of Frankincense, Lavender, Lemon, Lemongrass, Peppermint, Rosalina, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Spearmint, Sweet Orange and Tea Tree essential oils.

This beautiful plant grows in abundance around Mirboo North, Victoria, where it has a history of therapeutic use with the local Kurnai Elders, noting traditional applications. Balm mint bush (Prostanthera melissifolia) has been used in Australia for many years for warding off insects, purifying the air, and even using the soothing vapours for helping with respiratory ailments.

The essential oil has a unique fragrance that is rich and minty with crisp eucalyptus notes. It is rich in menthol making it a great substitute for eucalyptus. It is an erect shrub with hairy branches, egg-shaped leaves with fine teeth on the edges and mauve to purple or pink flowers on the ends of branchlets.
