White Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi), from the Rutaceae family is the rotund, yellow-orange sour to semi-sweet fruit of a subtropical evergreen citrus tree. With a fresh, uplifting aroma, the oil is cold pressed from the rind of the fruit and is cherished for its many uses and benefits. It has a very high (88 to 95 percent) content of highly valued limonene as well as antioxidants. Its benefits are purifying, cheerful and uplifting. White Grapefruit is slightly tart and less sweet than Red or Pink Grapefruit. It is also a good choice for aromatherapy purposes and as a top note in natural perfumery.
