Common Uses

It is used to blend with other oils to relieve pain and inflammation. It helps to reduce bacteria and clear lung congestion. Cedarwood Virginia is widely used in the perfume industry as a base note and is used in cosmetics in Soaps, Skin Care and Hair Care, as it nourishes, moisturizes, rejuvenates and heals lots of skin conditions like acne. Known for its grounding effect, it can be used during stressful situations, reducing anxiety and depression. A great oil to use for meditation. Cedarwood Virginia Oil helps to deodorize indoor environments, repel insects, prevent the development of mildew.

Cedarwood Virginia (Juniperus virginiana) is native to the Eastern USA and Canada. Also known as Red Cedar and or Eastern Red Cedar, it thrives in high altitudes growing to about 100 feet. The aroma is grounding evoking a feeling of vitality and health. This species has been used for numerous issues, including applications for the skin for wounds, skin rashes, hair loss, eczema, acne, warts, fungal skin infections, and hemorrhoids. It can also be rubbed onto joints for rheumatism, and onto the chest for asthma. Eastern red cedar is also used as a fragrance for soaps, perfumes, and cosmetics.
