Common Uses

Pure Helichrysum Italicum essential oil provides many natural benefits for our bodies from anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-allergenic, analgesic and antibacterial properties.

Skin:
Helichrysum oil is used for muscular aches and pains, abscesses, acne, boils, bronchial congestion, burns, cuts, dermatitis, eczema, irritated skin, wounds, nervous exhaustion and stress. It is mainly used in massage oils, creams and lotions.

Properties:
Helichrysum also contains di-ketones molecules (referred to as italidones). Italidones are recognized for their incredible ability to regenerate skin tissue and promote cell turnover, leading to increased healing and overall growth and repair in the body. These molecules are not found in other oils. Helichrysum oil can effectively treat bruises, burns, traumas and pain due to its regenerative properties. It helps to heal skin inflammation such as eczema, dermatitis, acne and dry skin. It also aids in reducing wrinkles, stretchmarks and scars along with warts and broken veins scars. Helichrysum oil has a soothing effect on muscle pains, sprains, rheumatism, strained muscles and arthritis by virtue of its anti-inflammatory properties.

Diffuser/Aromatherapy: Helichrysum oil can be used in a diffuser or in aromatherapy for problems related to digestion, respiration and headache due to its antispasmodic properties. Helichrysum oil is extracted from the Helichrysum italicum plant that mainly grows in European regions of France, Spain and Italy. This plant belongs to the Asteraceae family. The oil is watery and its colour is pale yellow although the color may range from pale yellow to red.

Besides having a tea and honey undertone, Helichrysum Oil has a characteristic straw-like fruity aroma. Extracted by steam distillation method from dried or fresh flowering head clusters of the Helichrysum plant, this oil is also known as Everlasting Oil.

Helichrysum oil is mainly used as an ingredient in massage oils, creams and lotions. It can be used for vapor therapy or during warm baths to cure muscle aches and inflammation; problems relating to digestion and respiration and headache. It also has soothing and calming properties which help to cure depression. Athletes and bodybuilders widely use essential oils containing Helichrysum oil as it is highly effective in treating muscle inflammations due to physical activities.
