Eucalyptus Lemon Scented Ironbark Essential Oil is complex, distilled from the leaves and used for flavoring, perfumery and aromatherapy. It has a fruity-lemon fragrance with rosemary-like back tones. Its high citral and limonene content delivers its wonderful citrus lemon fragrance as well as anti-fungal and anti-viral effects.

Known for its antiseptic prowess, it offers relief from troubled breathing in winter, air freshening, uplifting, relaxing and removes bad room smells and odors. It is also used in massage for relief from tired muscular aches. The major components methyl geranate, geranyl acetate, beta-phellandrene are all non-toxic, non-irritant, and have uses in perfumery. The citral components are said to be: anti-infectious, anti-viral, antiseptic, expectorant, anti-inflammatory and a digestive stimulant.

Its plant chemical constituents give the oil a much less aggressive aroma profile than either Lemon Myrtle or Lemon Tea Tree, and a much milder effect when used in properly-formulated skin and body care products.

Common Uses

A pleasant, fresh, gently sweet, lemon scent, Eucalyptus Ironbark Essential Oil is one of the more unique and pleasant Eucalyptus aromas. It is useful in diffusers as it has excellent antimicrobial properties with a soothing and calming aroma. It is good in air fresheners and room sprays as it masks and eliminates odors. Lemon scented iron bark oil has traditionally been used for perfumery because of its delicate citrus scent. It is a soothing and calming oil. It has excellent antimicrobial properties. This makes it an excellent air antiseptic when vaporized. Has been used in perfumery, toiletry preparations, and some flavorings. Also effective in masking odors. It is valued in Aromatherapy and used in massage oil blends for relief from tired muscular aches.
*Lemon Ironbark Eucalyptus contains aldehydes, so normal skin sensitivity cautions apply, apply to the skin in formulations at less than 1%.

A small to medium rough barked sclerophyll tree, growing up to 20 meters, solitary, straight, and bark persistent, Eucalyptus Lemon Scented Ironbark trees naturally occur in the east coast region of the Cape York Peninsula in Australia. An area near the Palmer River on Cape York Peninsula is a stronghold of the tree. The essential oil of  Eucalyptus Lemon Scented Ironbark is extracted via steam distillation of the leaves and green branchlets. It is one of the more unique Eucalyptus aromas with a sweet, fresh, fruity-lemony aroma with a pleasant rosemary-like edge.
