Bitter Orange Oil has a wide range of benefits. The fruit itself has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years. The oil has been recently used in research involving reducing withdrawal anxiety.

Cleansing, stimulating and toning action of the oil makes it an ideal addition to cellulite and detox treatments and products, and products involved in the treatment of varicose veins. It aids mental clarity and has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties.

B-Myrcene – 2%

Common Uses

Bitter Orange Oil is used extensively in the perfume industry. Known for its uplifting, energizing and yet calming qualities making it popular in Aromatherapy and diffusers. Great ingredient in soaps and body washes.

Used in Ayurvedic medicine to aid meditation. Is widely used in cleaning products. It is a soothing oil as an ingredient in body products and in muscle oils and creams. Great product for use in skin toners. Refreshing and balancing and calms oily skin

The Bitter Orange (Citrus aurantium) tree is a small evergreen that can reach up to 6 metres high. It is an interesting plant, with a wealth of benefits and three different essential oils are produced from it - Neroli Oil from the flowers, Petitgrain Oil from the leaves and Bitter Orange Oil is cold pressed from the peel. Bitter Orange Oil is a darkish yellow to olive with a distinctive slightly bitter citrus odour and a very versatile oil.
